Jonas Brothers Officially Call It Quits

It's not like we didn't see this coming: The Jonas Brothers are over…for now.

Three weeks after abruptly canceling their tour because of what was described as a "deep rift within the band," NickJoe and Kevin tell People magazine that they've decided to break up. The band's rep also confirms the split to ABC News Radio.

"It's over for now," says Kevin, while Nick adds, "It's really hard to say 'forever,' [but] we're closing a chapter, for sure."

Joe, meanwhile, says that it was a unanimous decision that came after a meeting on October 3, during which Nick told his brothers he was concerned about the future of the group.  "I was feeling kind of trapped. I needed to share my heart with my brothers," he tells People.

The Jonas Brothers initially formed in 2005.  They've sold over eight million albums, appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone, were nominated for a Grammy Award and performed at the White House.  They've been featured in several TV movies and series, including Camp RockJONAS and Married to Jonas, and they starred in their own movie, 2009's Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience.
