About a week ago, One Direction's Niall Horan asked Katy Perry to marry him on Twitter.  Well now, according to Niall, Katy's accepted his proposal and the two are headed to the altar.  But don't worry — it's all a joke.

It all started when Katy appeared on the British version of X Factor on October 19, and reminisced about the fact that when she was a guest on the show in 2010, it was her vote that allowed then-16-year-old solo artist Niall to advance to the boot camp stage of the competition.  He was then put together with some of the other solo boys into a new group called One Direction and, of course, the rest is history.  Niall responded to Katy's appearance by tweeting, "I love you @katyperry ! Thank you! Ps. Will u marry me?"

Now, flash forward to Friday, November 1, when both One Direction and Katy appeared on the same TV show in Japan.  Niall posted a photo of Katy cuddling up to him, with the caption, "she said yes ! It's happening! Haha!"  He then posted a photo of himself, Katy and the rest of 1D with the caption, "Me and my groomsmen and my lovely wife hahahaha." 

He added, "Had such a laugh [in Tokyo] with the lads and @katyperry ! Love that girl!"

Sadly, this legendary Twitter romance is not to be, since Katy is happily involved with John Mayer.
