Miley Cyrus: “I’m Literally What Everybody Is Talking About Right Now”

As if you're not already aware, Miley Cyrus is kind of a big deal right now. In fact, she doesn't mind saying so herself.

In her new cover story for the December issue of Cosmopolitan magazine, Miley says, "I’m just having the best time ever and everything’s falling into place like it’s supposed to. Even people who want to hate on me, they can’t even shut down the fact that I’m literally what everyone is talking about."

But that's not to say that the singer is some sort of egotistical diva. "I don’t want to say that I’m on top right now — I feel like I’m kind of an underdog in a cool way," she explains to Cosmo. "It’s almost punk rock to like me because it’s not the right thing to do. Like, society wants to shut me down.”

Not only society, but other artists as well. Miley has a few choice words for those singers who dissed her scandalous MTV VMA performance this past summer. "At the end of the day, I would say I’m a nice person, and I take pride in the fact that I treat everyone really well, so there’s no reason for anyone to ever come at me because I only want the best for everybody else," Miley points out. "I don’t ever throw shade at anyone.”

And according to Miley, there might have been some jealousy involved there. "I think everyone would have given anything to be me at that moment, because I was being one hundred percent true to myself…and not many people can say that," she tells Cosmo. "And what if I hadn’t done that performance? The VMAs would have been bad. They would have been missing something."

With the success of her album and her upcoming tour, Miley is definitely is a positive space right now, even if her personal life didn't exactly pan out the way she thought it would.  Referring to the fact that she and ex-fiance Liam Hemsworth are splitsville, Miley tells Cosmo that she's totally fine with being single, because she's focusing on her music now.

"This is the best time of my life. I’m not going to look back on it and be like, ‘I wish I hadn’t been dwelling over a breakup,’ you know? Because that’s now what God wants my life to be about right now," says Miley. "God wants my life to be about being successful and being happy and blessing other people and being blessed.”

You can read Miley's entire interview by picking up the December issue of Cosmo when it hits stands November 5.
