While critics have pointed to Miley Cyrus' racy performances as evidence that show biz sexualizes and objectifies young women, Miley herself has a very different opinion of the situation.  To her, she's striking a blow for feminism.

Speaking to BBC Radio 1's Newsbeat, Miley explains that she feels that there's a "double standard"  for men and women when it comes to body image, and says,  "I feel like I'm one of the biggest feminists in the world because I tell women to not be scared of anything."  Also, she says that she knows that she's a "good person," no matter what her critics say.

As for her most recent stunt — appearing to blaze up onstage during the MTV European Music Awards — Miley responds, "I never worry about what I do on stage making me look bad. I think people, if they actually knew me, would be surprised at how normal I am. I'm definitely crazy but I'm normal."

"I feel like [I am] socially probably more acceptable than a lot of people in this industry because I've just always grown up around this and so I never have any kind of attitude," she insists.

And Miley says that she doesn't really care how much people talk about her: that's the whole idea. "Every time you talk about me, you're bringing more awareness to me and… my record," she explains. "If you have good songs I think you can wear anything or do anything, just be able to back it up by what you're doing."
